What Is Drain Lining?

Drain lining is a vital component in our homes. It forms part of the plumbing that is responsible for moving water from your sewer line into the water you use for bathing, cooking, washing and many other uses. There are many different types of linings but essentially, they are materials that have been specifically made to drain and protect against the build-up of sludge and bacteria.

Drain lining, as its name implies, involves coating the inside channel with a type of polymer coating that sticks to the pipeline. It can be compared to constructing an additional pipe inside the existing one. While this slightly reduces the pipe’s existing interior diameter through which the liquid can be moved, it is generally far preferable to the alternative of manually digging up the drains. The whole process is much less disruption and highly effective. For more information on Drain Lining, visit a site like https://www.wilkinson-env.co.uk/drain-lining-no-dig-repair/

So, what is drain lining? It is a special material that is designed to bond to an existing damaged pipe. These materials are usually made of rubber, which acts to seal off any leaks from water which is going through them. In addition to that it also keeps dirt and grime from sticking its way into the pipes. Once this has been cleared then it is usually sealed with another type of rubber sealant to ensure the pipes are well cleaned and disinfected and bacteria is kept out.
