If you want to save money, feel that you are always running out of money or simply want to make sure that you are not wasting money, then sitting down and going through your incomings and outgoings is a good idea.
Look at your bank statements and work out what you have coming in and what is going out. From this you can also tell where your money is going and what on. Some things are essential, but some aren’t and this will also show you the areas where you will be able to make a saving.
One of the first things to look at are your bills, although things like gas and electricity are essential, what you pay for them can vary dramatically, so it is well worth shopping around with various energy providers as you will almost definitely be able to get a better deal.
Some people also find that a meter helps them, as you can see exactly what you are paying and using, so you will be less inclined to waste energy – e.g. leaving lights on. If this appeals for you look at having an Electric Meter Box and/or a gas meter box fitted.
As well as gas and electric, broadband is another bill that you could well be able to save money on. There are many different internet providers and it may be that in your area some are better than others, but ask around your neighbours and get recommendations.
