How Are Silicone Products Made?

The process of creating a silicone product is rather simple and straightforward. It starts with the raw materials and then follows the heat and pressure method to create the desired shape. The amount of time taken varies from one product to another, however, it is safe to say that most products made out of silicon take approximately four hours to make. Silicone Moulding is often used for items that need to be made on a mass production scale and companies like Meadex can help you with this.

Silicone has fast overtaken other materials in the product of products, particularly those in the medical and beauty industries. This is in part due to the fact that it does not require the need to damage natural resources such as trees and it also carries less of an allergy risk when you compare this to latex, which is one of the more common items that cause skin reactions.

Once the desired shape is achieved, the next step is to add the suitable amount of liquid silicone into the moulds which are pre-filled. This is important as silicone is rather heavy, hence it is necessary to ensure that the molds are properly set to the correct weight.

Once the moulds have been completed, the silicone items are ready to be shipped off to the various manufacturing companies. These silicone products are then cut and polished to give them their smooth and shiny look if that is the desirable outcome. Once this is done, the silicone items are then packed into boxes.
